The 00-15M first appeared on our recommended list for Acoustic Guitars Under $2000, at a time when we didn’t have an Under $1500 price category, in August 2021 but came off the list in March 2022. This was despite it having an impressively high Gearank Rating of 98 at the time but it was out-ranked by both the Martin 000-15M and Martin D-15M which both had a rating of 99 at the time!
It also appeared on our recommended list for Parlor Guitars when we published the first edition in September 2021 and it remains there today.

Overview
Martin’s all-solid mahogany body guitars are rated very highly by guitarists, allowing them to secure multiple recommendations on our list of Best Acoustic Guitars.
The Martin 00-15M is part of this line, with a 00 body that qualifies it as a parlor guitar and features a solid mahogany top and solid mahogany back and sides – a combination that accentuates the mids for a warm tone that works great for fingerstyle and for vocal accompaniment.
It follows the same neck specs as the other 15M Martin guitars, with a dovetail neck joint construction, modified low oval mahogany neck, and topped by a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard.
The top, back, sides and the neck all have a satin finish.
Being an all-mahogany body acoustic guitar, and given its 00 shape, don’t expect this to sound like a spruce topped dreadnought.
But its mellow tone has proven itself as excellent for finger style playing, as well as blues and folk more broadly.
C.F. Martin & Co. continues to be the go to brand when it comes to premium acoustic guitars in the sub $2000 price range, check out the Martin 00-15M if you’re looking for a warm sounding alternative to the dreadnought.
