The Seymour Duncan SH-1n '59 appeared on our recommended list for Budget Guitar Pickups Under $100 for 1 edition from November 2021 until October 2022 when it was removed due to a price increase that put it above the $100 price limit.
Overview
The '59 Model SH-1n is Seymour Duncan's slightly modernized rendition of the vintage PAF (Patent Applied For) pickup found on Gibson Les Pauls of the late 1950's.
It was designed to deliver an open and detailed sound excellent for classic rock and blues.
It's highs are tastefully boosted for pick attack articulation and the mids are scooped for the clarity of individual notes in a chord.
This is one of Seymour Duncan's most popular pickups on offer and its easy to see why.
