The M170 appeared on our recommended list for Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings from December 2021 until June 2022 when it was removed due to there being more highly rated sets of strings available.
Then in November 2022 it had high enough ratings to go back on the list where it is today.

The Martin M170 Originals is their best rated extra-light gauge set for acoustics, designed to be easy on the hands, while retaining their signature woody tone.
This set features 80/20 bronze windings that work well with various musical genres, with each string undergoing production and quality control that meets Martin's high standards.
With its 0.010" high E and 0.047" low E string, this set is expected to sound clean and bright. It is a good compliment to naturally boomy sounding acoustic guitars.
